"Mother Luna" By Elexer Lyra

Mother Luna

By Elexer Lyra

Mother Luna,
love and light,
create the sky
I see tonight.
Guide me through
my painful nights,
in hope that I will
be alright
in the end.
You are my forever
friend
of reflecting day.
Glistening the sorrows
and mind trips away,
you listen
to the inner creases
of my mind.
Reminding me how
you are a kind
pool of whispers,
telling me now
that I am beautiful,
no matter what
the thoughts
say.

"Caught In Numbers" by Elexer Lyra

Caught In Numbers

By Elexer Lyra

Caught,
In-between fighting,
For my individuality,
And fighting,
For my future.

In the end,
Will I only be a number?
The number
Of tattoos I have,
The number
Of piercings I can have,
The number
Of how many times I think I've messed up
While others say it's okay.

Statistics make up this world,
And,
Make me feel stone-faced.

How do I make the statistics work for me,
Instead of,
Making my heart race
Under the intensity
That I will never be good enough?

Which is funny,
To me,
Because I think everyone else is.

"Visions of Mermaids" By Elexer Lyra

Visions of Mermaids

By Elexer Lyra

Water falls on my body

Like a cold iceberg. Lilly

Showers powder silk-like skin,

As the thrust of winter winds

Brush my hair with delicate

Grace. Plucking articulate

Vocal cords.

"Cities of Waste" by Elexer

Cities of Waste

by Elexer

I am not nearly
As slimy
As the falsehoods
you tell yourself.

Covered in your
Garbage- a core
Of a battery
stuck to me like a burning appendage.

Locking yourself up
to not see how messed up
you have made
this world.

The glass only a mirror-
you hear
yourself say you use to see
outside your comfort zone.

"A Wish for Snow" by Elissa Rosenthal

 A Wish for Snow
by Elissa Rosenthal

Wishful for snow,
to climb its' way to our front door.
This time is one of the few,
where the beauty could not be a nuisance.
Work is now set aside,
waiting for the new year to toll.
Please,
father sky,
let it snow.

The crisp shivers,
within the air,
make it clear,
of the possibility.
For hot chocolate times,
among trees covered in fresh frost,
and boots digging into the softness,
let it snow.

Welcome

Welcome
 By: Elissa Rosenthal

Come into my house today,
And see how I will act,
As you take away my treats from me,
Can't you hear a clack?

Click,
Click,
Click,

Goes against the grain,
Feeding off your fear,
And feeding off your pain.

Click,
Click,
Click,
Thump,

Feel your blood now boil,
As a laugh back at you,
Running from my pail.

You though a little costume,
Cute and cuddly so,
Would make me not show you the body,
That I had stowed.

Stillness

Stillness
By Elissa Rosenthal

Sit upon the grass and flowers,
breathing in their soft essences.
Stillness comes and flows around,
as it simultaneously goes elsewhere.
Silently, let thoughts pass by,
wish you knew where you are in life.
Strongly hold onto the will,
that this in not the best you can do.
Slipping into the dark abyss of no improvement,
is scarier than death at this point.
Sway back and forth,
to clear these thoughts from your mind.
Shake them from their foundations,
so they do not grow roots to pull you down.
Stay in this stillness,
this calm,
your time will come around.
