Luck of a Dragonfly by Elissa Rosenthal

Luck of a Dragonfly
By Elissa Rosenthal

Take my good luck
into your peace of light.
Willing hopeful wishes
into your grand fortnight.

Release the lucky spark
to others in your world,
for I have given you
a time to make your pearl.

Pulse by Elissa Rosenthal

Pulse
By Elissa Rosenthal

Metal on concrete thoughts
pulse under my skin,
keeping me from everywhere I need to go
and I have been.
Scritch scratch
and peel me thin
till there is nothing left.
Every day these systems
keep me alive, but,
what have I kept?
Muted senses
muted defenses
making it hard to speak.
Put me on a wall
like weaponry
in your collection
because I'm not me.
Pulse, pulse, pulse, pulse,
pulse pull, pulse
pulse, pulse, pulse, pulse,
pulse, pull, pulse.

"Fluttering Wings" By Elissa Rosenthal

 Flutter Wings
By Elissa Rosenthal

Paint your way into my flutter wings,
and cup them to your heart. Wondering,
with chipping hope,
how
you could brush my dreams away
like a vain rabbit.
Milk into my ear
how your hopes
holed themselves into obscurity.

"Twisted Rainbow" By Elissa Rosenthal

Twisted Rainbow

By Elissa Rosenthal

Your lips are a twisted rainbow
made of cotton candy floss
and salty popcorn.
Soft clouds of syrup
grace my tongue,
and fill me up

like the glass jar
holding my heart.

Limbs, vines, curling around my legs,
latching me to the sediment
of our river of light fractals.
Magnifying lenses examine me,
petting me with your light and shadow.
