"Cinders" by Elexer Lyra

Cinders

By Elexer Lyra

Scolding pencil tips
melt into my veins.
A cauldron is alight
to hone the fire
of pen and paper,
lit by moonlight.
Hair catches the flame
and fills the brain
with motion,
until the body glimmers.
The last stroke makes me
cinders.

"Kaleidoscope Rainbow" By Elexer Lyra

Kaleidoscope Rainbow
By Elexer Lyra

I change my colors
To match my soul.
I am not stagnant
Like a pond,
Happy with the smells
Of a complacent life.
I am,
More one color
Then the next.

Never a flat shade.
I have edges of emerald
And violet,
To breath in the grass
Between my toes.
Onyx centers
Grounding me.

Always moving thoughts.
Triangles of indigo
And tangerine,
Lend me knowledge
Between the pages
Of books
And experiences.

I am a kaleidoscope rainbow.

"Visions of Mermaids" By Elexer Lyra

Visions of Mermaids

By Elexer Lyra

Water falls on my body

Like a cold iceberg. Lilly

Showers powder silk-like skin,

As the thrust of winter winds

Brush my hair with delicate

Grace. Plucking articulate

Vocal cords.

"Dancing With Succulents" by Elexer Lyra

"Dancing With Succulents"
By Elexer Lyra

Silent strokes
Of dancers
Feet,
Floating
Through air
With sweet
Longing.

For Summer’s,

Drying dreams
Of Gaia’s
Ice,
Melting,
In earth,
To meet
Lips quenched.

"Thoughts of Swimming" by Elexer Lyra

Thoughts of Swimming

By Elexer Lyra

Can you hold me close,
Like a jellyfish?
But not with
As much sting?
We are together,
But not everything.
You are my closest friend,
Who whispers thoughts of triumph-
Or false information.
  Can you be the parent
Within my mind?
One, which says I can swim
and not drown?
