Welcome

Welcome
 By: Elissa Rosenthal

Come into my house today,
And see how I will act,
As you take away my treats from me,
Can't you hear a clack?

Click,
Click,
Click,

Goes against the grain,
Feeding off your fear,
And feeding off your pain.

Click,
Click,
Click,
Thump,

Feel your blood now boil,
As a laugh back at you,
Running from my pail.

You though a little costume,
Cute and cuddly so,
Would make me not show you the body,
That I had stowed.

The Horrible Haircut

The Horrible Haircut
By Elissa Rosenthal

Shinning steal assaulted my mane
You went to beauty school,
or so you claim.
My flowing locks no longer flow,
but are stuck in awkward angles.
You should go.
These are not layers,
not even for a hedge.
For I envy the bush,
and its' perfect edge.
Do you have something wrong with your eyes?
Did you even try?
This is a haircut,
my money will not buy.

Let Us Not Stay Quiet

Let Us Not Stay Quiet
By: Elissa Rosenthal

Let us not stay quiet,
and keep each other up.
Let us be passionate,
when our passion for others is gone.
Let us not stay quiet,
about our current love.
Let us chase away the naysayers,
with our hugs.
Let us kiss in public,
like other couples do.
Let us ignore the glances,
that burn into our souls.

Stillness

Stillness
By Elissa Rosenthal

Sit upon the grass and flowers,
breathing in their soft essences.
Stillness comes and flows around,
as it simultaneously goes elsewhere.
Silently, let thoughts pass by,
wish you knew where you are in life.
Strongly hold onto the will,
that this in not the best you can do.
Slipping into the dark abyss of no improvement,
is scarier than death at this point.
Sway back and forth,
to clear these thoughts from your mind.
Shake them from their foundations,
so they do not grow roots to pull you down.
Stay in this stillness,
this calm,
your time will come around.

Chances

Chances
by Elissa Rosenthal

As the light in the stars glow bright,
our bright ones turn dim.
People of all colors,
now all look the same.
It does not matter your background.
We see the stars glimmer bright,
and forget that they are us.
For we are them in further form,
even though we are still a mess.
Organized chaos surrounds everything in this universe,
keeping the balance while creating chances.
Chances to expand and become more than,
who we are.
More than manufactured manikins.

Let Us Bee Together

Let Us Bee Together
By Elissa Rosenthal

Let us bee together.
Has horrible as that pun may be,
let us join together,
so others may see.

How there are people,
like you and I,
who do not call themselves straight or gay-
but bi.

I know they exist,
because so do I.
This sexuality is how I identify.

I am not greedy,
a slut,
or a hiding gay.
I am only built this way.

Please try to understand that I exist,
even if you are a pessimist.

I have heard the rumors,
the generalized tales,
on how every bi woman,
is a straight one who's kissed a female.

I have heard how,
if you are bi,
that you are a lesbian,
who feels a need to lie.

I am telling you,
right hear on this day,
I am neither straight or gay.

I am a bi woman,
today and any other day.

Happy Bi Visibility Day Everyone! I hope you are having a great day and weekend!

Emerald Colored Glasses

Emerald Colored Glasses
By: Elissa Rosenthal

Evergreen shakes flutter through my bones.
Glasses of better grasses, of better homes,
complete my vision of being alone.

Fill my cup with troll-like tales of wine.
Fairy tales that glimmer the divine,
push the thought they will never be mine.

Closed eyes filled with hope, ever green,
will never keep a conscience for the clean.
