Cinders

Scolding pencil tips
melt into my veins.
A cauldron is alight
to hone the fire
of pen and paper,
lit by moonlight.
Hair catches the flame
and fills the brain
with motion,
until the body glimmers.
The last stroke makes me
cinders.
