I change my colors

To match my soul.

I am not stagnant

Like a pond,

Happy with the smells

Of a complacent life.

I am,

More one color

Then the next.

Never a flat shade.

I have edges of emerald

And violet,

To breath in the grass

Between my toes.

Onyx centers

Grounding me.

Always moving thoughts.

Triangles of indigo

And tangerine,

Lend me knowledge

Between the pages

Of books

And experiences.

I am a kaleidoscope rainbow.

The lock 

and key 

to my soul 

is not a one-way street

you can tear up with your

lyrical jackhammer's,

spilling my majesty 

into the sewer

with your language.

Locking

me up

behind a wall of religious

illusions

of me trying to be myself

and the perfection you will never see.

These rainbows

are my protectors 

and this box

is my chastity belt.

like other couples do.

that burn into our souls.
