Nutmeg and cinnamon,

pumpkin in pie shape,

silk touches taste buds

and glides down

with grace

like the tangerine,

lemon,

and cherry leaves.

Swirling gusts

brush my hair-

twirling the strands

in sequence to

the flower petals

among the wind.

If only I

could be carried

off like those

petals

and experience

flight.

Scolding pencil tips

melt into my veins.

A cauldron is alight

to hone the fire

of pen and paper,

lit by moonlight.

Hair catches the flame

and fills the brain

with motion,

until the body glimmers.

The last stroke makes me

cinders.
